1. What is the central  idea  of  your   concentration?

The central idea of my concentration is fearful dreams. Sometimes the scariest things are not what we expect.  Many dreams are unpleasant and emanate from our fears. That is the nature of our private unconscious. In my concentration I wanted to capture the experience, issues, and concerns of our fearful dreams. 2. How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea? You may refer to specific images as examples. When referencing specific images please indicate the image numbers.

I started exploring the dreamer: trapped, fearful, and dark. Though texture and the dark nature of the tones, I depict a place of fear and one that is not sought after. In pictures 2 and 3, the dreamers are contemplating within themselves and are stuck inside with no way out. There is often no escape of fearful dreams. In the 4th picture I selected to portray change in a indistinct nature of dreams. The sequence starts out fuzzy, then slowly focuses and then returns to being misty and distant. In the 5th picture, I depict instability and movement through a dream. I chose the blue colors to create a feeling of water, a sense of flow, and use a contrast of focus to show change. In picture 7, I used textures and the placement of shadows to express the fear of the unknown. In pictures 7 and 8, I focused on the search for meaning and the fear of the unknown. The textures really direct your eye to the facial expression and the composition represents the movement throughout the picture. In the last three pictures, I dealt with the body's imperfections, distortions, and impermanent  nature. In the 12th picture, she is confident in herself and learns to embrace her fearful dreams.
